1. On the cover: Sol Zim, the Joy of Chanukah, 1979. Sol Zim is one of the most prolific Jewish recording artists in American history. A descendant of five generations of cantors, his artistry, interpretive skills, and awe-inspiring productivity have left an indelible mark on the Jewish musical landscape, supplying it with an evolving musical sound and some of its most spectacular covers.

4. On the cover: The Moishe Oysher Chanukah Party. Yiddish Film star and cantor giant, Moishe Oysher released a series of albums in the 1940s celebrating the holidays with his signature energetic sound. The liner notes suggest that within Oysher’s “blood (lies) the compressed yearnings of a forgotten forbear.”
